This is just a warning to those of you living in the great USA that the digital tv switch will begin tommorow 2/7/09.
In case you have not read about the DTV change here is a quote from the GVT on what it is. "Digital Television (DTV) is an advanced broadcasting technology that will transform your television viewing experience. DTV enables broadcasters to offer television with better picture and sound quality. It can also offer multiple programming choices, called multicasting, and interactive capabilities." Hope this helps.

Card-Counting iPhone app

February 17th 2009 21:50
Iphone app

This is on app that I need, the card counter called Card Counting Practice. the ap wors as is says it does and has now been banned from all of the casinos in Nevada.

Nevada gambling regulators have warned casinos in the state about a card-counting program that works on Apple's iPhone and iPod Touch that illegally helps players beat the house in blackjack.
Card counting itself is not illegal under Nevada gambling laws, but it is considered a felony to use devices to help count cards.

The Nevada Gaming Control Board sent a memo to casinos last week warning them of the program.

In blackjack, certain card counting techniques help players determine when they are likely to win a hand and adjust their bets accordingly.

Nevada learned of the program from gambling regulators in California, where officials at an Indian casino found customers using it and tipped state authorities.

Amazing Solar Watch

February 11th 2009 00:06
Solar Watch
Real Simple
We found these cool solar-powered watches in a recent issue of Real Simple, listed under “Real Steals,” and like the funky style and durability. The Ani-Digi Solar Alarm Chrono watch from Tocs features a tiny solar panel, just as the Citizen Eco-Drive, however it’s much more affordable at just $45. It can be powered by the sun or by indoor lighting, but also features a lifetime back-up battery system just in case. Spend time in the water? Don’t let the solar panel deter you this watch is water resistant up to 98 feet. We love the many other features that this Tocs watch has, which again makes it well worth the money.

Texting Card

LG Text Cell Phone
Credit Card Texter

I could just hug LG for this one. The LBA-C300, which just ran by the FCC, is the texting equivalent of a Bluetooth headset -- a Bluetooth device that allows you to operate your phone without actually pulling out your phone, except this time it's for hitting your peeps with rapidly a rapidly composed "LOL" or "LOL, U R." The generous keyboard looks incredibly typable, and while the entire unit borders on the size of some phones on the market, it means you can leave your bulky numeric keypad dumbphone or hard-to-use touchscreen smartphone in your pocket or bag and get some real communication done with the QWERTY super Card. You can also view and store contact info, a clock, set an alarm and work you calendar from the device -- the Bluetooth pairing means you can even remotely control your phone's camera, though obviously much of this functionality depends on what phone you pair it with, LG phones are likely to get much better treatment. No word on release date or price, but we'll probably know more once LG actually announces the device officially to the public

285 M.P.G Car

February 3rd 2009 01:20
VW Volkswagon worlds best miles per gallon
I know this isn't exactly tech but here at the Daily Tech Dose we care about the environment and love cars. You may have already heard of VW’s 1 liter car, but take a closer look. It’s a sports economy concept car produced a few years ago by VW engineers, to answer one big question: could they build a car that consumes less than 3 liters of fuel for every 100 km traveled? It turns out they could, but they didn’t stop there. Instead, VW blew over that goal to create a car that uses only 1 liter of fuel for every 100 km! That’s 285 Miles Per Gallon! Only if Chevy or Dodge could do this. They Would not need the bailout money.
